You Knew Me When Set to Release Sophomore Album “You, Me, and the Rest of World” Amidst Year-Long Nationwide Tour Endeavor
“You, Me, and the Rest of the World” Available November 20, 2012
Having already been on the road for nearly four months, Music City based husband and wife duo You Knew Me When will release their sophomore album “You, Me, and the Rest of the World” on November 20, 2012, amidst a year-long tour endeavor. The duo have chosen to follow an almost storybook approach to sharing their music, putting their full-time jobs on hold, uprooting from their Nashville home, and embracing a true troubadour lifestyle. Continuing to evolve in their musical bond since the release of their self-titled debut album in 2010, “You, Me, and the Rest of the World” is the next progression in the musical journey of You Knew Me When.
Recorded in Nashville, TN, “You, Me, and the Rest of the World” conveys the dualistic melding of both Karisa and Cie’s musical styles. It is an album that parades between a fusion of progressive indie-rock and folky compositions all infused with a myriad of pulsing and stirring beats. Muen Magazine stated, “Their music offers haunting, brooding, yet somehow angelic vocal arrangements along with a wall of sound in their musicianship. The ambiance they offer is second to none.” While blending their vocals, Karisa, who until recently served as a Nashville public school music teacher, provides the piano, ukulele, and glockenspiel, as Cie, who spent several years as the Global Events Production Manager for Gibson Guitar, supplies the guitar and rhythmic nuances. The cumulative result is a musical style that blends a singer-songwriter soul with a pop/rock mentality.
Both physical and digital copies of “You, Me, and the Rest of the World” will be available at www.youknewmewhen.com. The album is also available on iTunes, Amazon, and other online retailers.
